This film was released during the height of the Cold War and in anticipation of the upcoming 1980 Olympics which had the USA hosting the winter Olympics in Lake Placid, NY and Russia hosting the summer Olympics in Moscow. Kristin Powers is a struggling swimmer hoping to make the U.S. Swim Team. She has a protein deficiency which prevents her from obtaining her dream of winning gold medals. Kristin goes to see a doctor who prescribes her a dosage of protein in the form of sperm. Kristin's swim times improve rapidly and the Russians will stop at nothing to uncover her secret and keep her from competing.
